If you’re looking for a place to have fun and escape summer’s heat and humidity, Dave & Buster’s in Florence has you covered.

The 30,000-square-foot air conditioned entertainment center and restaurant, which recently marked the first anniversary of its opening, has nearly 200 games along its “Million Dollar Midway” featuring both simulators and redemption games, says General Manager R. Timothy Ragan.

“We have a lot of people come in to play redemption games,” he says.

Redemption games allow patrons to earn tickets, which can be redeemed at the Winner’s Circle store for prizes ranging from candy to iPads. A rechargeable Power Card allows patrons to load up with as many chips (or credits) as they want to play games without fumbling for coins.

Right now, Ragan says, one of the more popular redemption games is Big Bass Wheel, which allows patrons to accumulate a large number of tickets with a spin of the wheel.

“We’ve done a lot with movies over the last few years,” he says. “Right now we have the Spider-Man arcade game which aligns with the new Spider-Man: Homecoming movie out this summer.”

There are also driving games, basketball shooting games and more. “It just depends on what people are into,” Ragan says.

When you want to take a break from the games, the Dave & Buster’s restaurant offers a wide variety of food from burgers and salads to steaks and ribs. The full-service, 360-degree bar featuring craft beer, wine and cocktails is located in the middle of the restaurant.

Another feature is the roughly 40 high definition TVs.

“We kind of specialize in sports viewing. It’s a great place to watch sports,” says Ragan. This includes the Reds, Bengals and other sporting events.

The facility also has private rooms for all kinds of corporate or social events. Dave & Buster’s also offers supervised “all-night” parties for groups.

In the summer, Dave & Buster’s opens at 10 a.m., an hour earlier than normal, but Ragan says, “If someone wants a breakfast meeting, we’ll open at 7 a.m.”

Reflecting on the store’s first year, Ragan says, “Florence is a great community. It’s been an awesome first year and we can’t wait for more opportunities in the future.”
